Hi, I’m Jodi — a singing teacher, songwriter, producer, and independent artist based in Sydney.

I hold a Bachelor of Contemporary Performance from the Australian Institute of Music (AIM), along with a current Working With Children Check (WWCC), and have over 8 years of experience teaching children and young adults (ages 5+) the principles of contemporary singing.

My work as both a performer and educator is shaped by a combination of academic training and real-world experience. During my tertiary studies, I developed a strong foundation in advanced music theory and vocal technique, alongside years of performing on stage and recording in studio settings. It was during my tertiary studies where I learned the foundations of jazz improvisation, understanding key centres, tonality and basic guidelines in vocal improvisation, ‘scatting’.

My passion for music began at a young age, as well as early learning at home on the piano, which naturally expanded into songwriting and production. I was later introduced to electronic music production during high school and began experimenting with layering harmonies, editing recordings, and writing melodies and lyrics across a range of genres. I gained a deeper understanding of harmony, both vocally (singing in an ensemble together) and theory based: understanding chords and key centres in a piece of music and the relationships within them.

In 2015, I performed with fellow students from AIM to an audience of over 30,000 for the One Million Women Climate Change Campaign, sharing the stage with Deni Hines and contributing to the recording of the campaign anthem, You’re the Voice. Since then, I have performed at weddings, functions, and public venues, continuing to build practical experience and a deep appreciation for vocal performance and technique.

I’m deeply driven by helping students build confidence in their own ability - there’s nothing quite like that lightbulb moment in a session! It’s incredible to watch my students achieve their personal vocal goals, all while fostering a collective passion for vocal, performance, writing and musical skills.
